In this assignment, you will compare and contrast current policies that address a particular social inequality in the United States to policies that address this same social inequality in other countries (at least two countries required). The goal of this project is to create real apples-to-apples comparisons, so you can use critical thought to provide explanations and insights. With that in mind, your findings will be shared via PowerPoint presentation. A narrated screencast is not required, just the completed presentation slides.

In your presentation

  • Compare the vital demographics of each nation (population, race, gender, average age, average income, average living at or below poverty, access to healthcare, etc.).
  • Compare the current policies that address the chosen social inequality in the United States versus other countries.
    • Provide a detailed summary of each policy identified.
    • Use scholarly and government research to support your discussion.
  • Describe how successful the U.S. policies have been in reducing the social inequality compared to the policies in the other countries.
    • Use credible research by way of in-text citations to support your discussion.
  • Summarize the limitations of current policies in the US directed at your chosen inequality versus the other countries you have chosen.
    • Use scholarly research by way of in-text citations to support your discussion.
  • Propose three changes to the current policies you summarized or suggest three new policies aimed at reducing this social inequality.
    • Justify the changes or new policies you proposed by providing a detailed reason for each change or new policy.
    • Use scholarly research by way of in-text citations to support your explanations.
