Integrating writing and spelling activities into an early childhood literacy program is critical to a balanced learning approach. Highly effective writing, spelling, and literacy centers that provide motivating, fun, and beneficial learning experiences for children are vital. For this assignment, write a paper in which you address the following: Identify and discuss the stages of writing development and the stages of spelling. Embed in your paper examples of the progression of children’s writing from drawing to conventional spelling. Explain strategies and activities for developing writing and spelling skills from birth through early childhood. Justify your strategies with appropriate and current research. Integrate what you have learned through research and practice about how these skills and activities can be effective components of a literacy program. Include theory that was reflected in your readings. Length: 5-7 pages not including title and reference pages. References: Minimum of 5 scholarly resources. Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
